Located about 3 km south of Kawayu Hot Spring, "Mt. Io" is an active volcano known as "Atosa-Nupuri" (Bare Mountain) in the Ainu language. Io MOKMOK Base, visitors can enjoy the famous Onsen Eggs, made using the hot spring from Kawayu Hot Spring.
